Personal transportation conditions

1. Persons entering the harbour facilities or boarding the vessel are required to adhere to the provisions of these Contractual transportation conditions for sailing throughout their whole stay on the vessel and when disembarking. They are required to follow the instructions of members of the crew, given in the interests of personal and sailing safety.

2. Passengers with a valid ticket are only entitled to transportation if the vessel is not fully occupied. The captain decides whether there is enough space on the vessel. Transportation of children up to 6 years not accompanied by a person older than 15 years is forbidden. Persons who breach the Contractual transportation conditions for sailing are required to leave the vessel at the next stop, without compensation for the paid fare or contractual fine.

3. Throughout the period of their stay on the vessel and when exiting the vessel facilities to the shore, each passenger is required to have a valid ticket with them. At the request of the inspection body or crew the passenger is required to present the ticket for inspection. Passengers entitled to a discount or passengers travelling free of charge will present the document entitling them to a discount or to travel free of charge, together with their ticket. The inspection body is an employee of dispatch or an employee of the transporter with an inspection warrant. Passengers without a valid ticket are required to pay the transporter a contractual fine in the sum of five times the basic fare from the first stop of the shipping route to the stop where the passenger leaves the vessel.

4. Return tickets are valid for one trip there and one trip back. When setting out on the return trip the passenger is required to show the crew a valid return ticket immediately on boarding the vessel.

5. Passengers are required to purchase a ticket immediately after boarding the vessel. At the harbour at Dvořákovo nábřeží tickets are only sold at the ticket office before boarding the vessel. The ticket fares are posted the harbour at Dvořákovo nábřeží/ticket office/ and on the vessels. Passengers entitled to a discount or for transportation free of charge are required to present the cashier with a document proving this right and to collect a ticket.

6. Transportation of luggage, dogs and bicycles is only possible with regard to current operating conditions. It is forbidden to board the ship carrying substances that could dirty the ship and pollute the environment or damage or injure other passengers. Transportation of flammable substances and heating gas on the ship is strictly forbidden! Dogs may only be transported with a securely fitted muzzle and if they are on a short lead. Luggage of a weight exceeding 50 kg must not be transported. Approval of transportation of luggage, dogs and bicycles is in the competence of the captain of the ship.

7. Every passenger is required to behave in a manner so as not to be the cause of a fire and so that they do not endanger the life and health of persons, animals and property; when dealing with a fire, natural disaster or other extraordinary circumstances passengers are required to provide appropriate personal and necessary material aid.

8. Every passenger is required to abide by the fire prevention regulations, to maintain access points to fire extinguishers, escape routes and emergency exits free. In the event of a fire or other extraordinary circumstance the passengers will follow the instructions of the captain of the vessel and the members of the crew.

9. Smoking is only permitted on the upper deck. Passengers are only permitted to stay on those parts of the deck and in the areas of the ship that are reserved for them. Entering the wheel-house and the service areas of the ship is forbidden! Boarding and disembarking from the ship is only permitted through the entrance attended by the crew.

10. Stops, apart from end stops, must be signalled. Passengers that wish to disembark from the vessel must inform the crew of this in time. Passengers that wish to board the ship will signal the captain of an arriving vessel in time. Entry onto the harbour gangway is only permitted for the purpose of signalling and for boarding and disembarking from the ship. Entry onto the harbour bridge, including the gangway, is only permitted after the ship lands and after the passengers leave the vessel.

11. Delays or if regular services do not take place are not a reason for compensation of damages. Passengers are entitled to a refund for unused tickets if they were unable to complete their trip from provable causes on the part of the transporter.

12. The transporter will transport a passenger on a wheel chair if the technical design of the boarding bridge and the vessel, the number of passengers occupying the ship and transportation safety allow this and if the passenger arranges for help when loading and unloading the wheel-chair. Passengers on wheel chairs may only board and leave the ship with the approval of the crew.

OPERATING RULES

PASSENGER BOAT PORT PRAHA “AT ČECHŮV MOST“

 

§1

Basic Provisions

  1. The port is located at the right river side of the Vltava River, river km 52,055 to 52,180; it consists of the land section and the waterway section, where the land section is constituted by the riverbank wall, the adjoining reinforced surface area and the communication, the mooring equipment for vessels, and the necessary underground services. The waterway section consists of the water surface in the length of the port itself and in the width which accommodates three vessels lying abreast at the dock gangways. There are four gangways; these are securely moored to the mooring equipment at the bank, and are equipped with foot bridges for the passengers to walk on and for facilitating the transfer of supplies to the vessels.
  2. The port is a private port in accordance with Act No. 114/1995 Coll., as amended, and Decree No. 222/1995 Coll., as amended.
  3. The land section essential for the operation of the port is rented to the company of Evropská vodní doprava - Praha s.r.o. (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) by the company of TSK hl. města Prahy. The owner and the operator of the waterway section of the port is the state enterprise of Povodí Vltavy Praha s.p.

 

§2

 Basic Port Operation Guidelines

  1. The port is designated for passenger water transportation only. Only those vessels that have the Company’s approval may use the port.
  2. The approval to use the port is granted by the port manager – an authorized representative of the Company (Tel.: 224 810 030), who is responsible for the management of the port.
  3. The individual vessels may only be moored to the gangways; the maximum width is designated to accommodate three widths of vessels lying abreast, but it is not to exceed 22m.  The individual gangways may have a maximum of three vessels moored to them. Mooring the vessel directly to the bank is only possible with the port manager’s approval.
  4. The port may be used year round depending on the water stage, where with the flow rate of 500 m3/s measures must be taken to ensure the safety of the vessels and of the port itself following the port manager’s decision, and starting at the water stage of 600 m3/s the vessels and the gangways must be transferred to a safety port and the port must be evacuated and secured for the purposes of potential flooding in accordance with a valid flood response plan.

 

§3

Lying of Vessels and Providing Supplies to Vessels

  1. The vessels must be properly moored to the gangways in accordance with the general guidelines and the Sailing Safety Rules, they must be secured against unauthorized entry and unauthorized manipulation.
  2. Transfers between the vessels and the gangway and between the individual vessels themselves must be secured in accordance with the protection of occupational health and safety guidelines. In reduced visibility conditions, they must be equipped with sufficient lighting. 
  3. In accordance with the provisions of the Sailing Safety Rules, there must be a guard on duty on the vessels.
  4. The connections of the vessels to the electric power supply on the bank must comply with the requirements of safety and electrical regulations and standards.
  5. Drawing of drinking water from the connection points on the bank must be in accordance with the sanitation rules and the Operating Rules for the Monitoring of Drinking Water on Vessels.
  6. There may be a charge for electricity and drinking water consumption as determined by the port manager.
  7. Fuel pumping to the vessels is prohibited in the port; it is only permitted in locations designated for this purpose, where prevention against unwanted release of oil substances is ensured. 
  8. Discharge of sewage is also prohibited in the port; it is only permitted using special equipment designated for this purpose.
  9. Supplying the vessels with other material and spare parts, paint etc. must be carried out in a manner ensuring that handling of such material is in compliance with the applicable safety regulations. Special attention must be paid when handling hazardous material, such as spare Propane Butane canisters, welding pressure bottles, carbonic acid gas pressure bottles etc.
  10. Non-hazardous waste from the vessels is disposed of in the containers designated for this purpose that are located on the bank; it is prohibited to dispose of waste material into the water. Hazardous waste must be disposed of according to applicable regulations.
  11. Small repairs to vessels and vessel equipment repairs must be carried out in accordance with valid regulations; special attention has to be paid to potential risk of surface water pollution. Larger-scale repairs may only be performed in the port with the port manager’s express approval to do so.
  12. It is prohibited to bring hazardous material, pyrotechnics or other objects on board vessels which are not related to the operation of the vessels.
  13. All vessels are equipped with sanitary facilities for the use of the vessel crews and other persons present on the gangways.
  14. All persons boarding the vessels or entering the gangways are bound to follow the principles of fire protection, in case they notice a fire to perform everything possible to extinguish the fire, and if this is not possible to call the Fire Rescue Department – Tel.: 112.

 

§4

Passenger and General Public Rules

  1. The riverbank area of the port is open to the public. Entrance to the foot bridges of the gangways, to the gangways and to the vessels is prohibited to any unauthorized persons without the assistance of a competent authorized person. For this purpose it is necessary to secure all points of entry with appropriate technical instruments such as gates, fences, barriers.
  2. When boarding and unboarding the vessels the passengers have to pay increased attention especially with respect to possible unexpected swinging of the gangways or vessels due to the formation of waves on the river and with respect to possible worsening of weather conditions.
  3. Swimming is strictly prohibited throughout the entire premises of the port.
  4. Further movement of passengers within the specified premises is governed by the appropriate rules as stipulated in the “Contractual Transportation Terms and Conditions” which must be visibly posted at all boarding gangways and on board all passenger ships.

 

§5

Final Provisions

  1. The persons responsible for the observance of these Operating Rules are the captains of the vessels, the competent chiefs of staff on their respective levels, and the port manager.
  2. The Annex to these Operating Rules consists of a schematic layout of the port with marked locations for vessel lying, locations of electric power supply and drinking water connections, waste disposal facilities, and of valid Contractual Transportation Terms and Conditions.
